A university has won a major �1m contract aimed at helping to bring financial stability to Azerbaijan. The University of Paisley has been awarded the project from the European Commission to strengthen the country's economy and reduce poverty.
The institution's centre for international corporate governance and accounting will lead the programme.
Major firms KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young were invited to submit tenders.
Ian Fleming, of the university, said: "This consultancy will reduce poverty and financial instability and create greater political stability for the country."
Azerbaijan borders the Caspian Sea between Iran and Russia and has a population of about eight million.
