Ryanair will cut services to Sweden from across the UK
Low-fare airline Ryanair is to cut back on services to Sweden because of a proposed new flight tax.

From 28 October, the Irish carrier will cut its Gothenburg City Airport to Prestwick service from five flights a week to three.

Ryanair said the Swedish Government's proposed tax would effectively add a further 30% to average fares.

Ryanair deputy chief executive Michael Cawley added: "The Swedish Government is destroying low-fare travel."
