New Celtic Connections director
Musician and composer Donald Shaw has been named as the new director of the Celtic Connections winter festival.

Mr Shaw, who founded the band Capercaillie and has appeared several times at the festival, takes over from Colin Hynd, who resigned as director.

He will be responsible for programming concerts and events for the next Celtic Connections in Glasgow in January.

Mr Hynd, who founded the festival 13 years ago, will continue to work for Glasgow Cultural Enterprises.
