A woman who was a passenger on a bus has been seriously injured after a brick was thrown at the vehicle. She had to be treated for face injuries after the incident, which happened in Methil on Wednesday night.
Police officers, who had been carrying out anti-social behaviour patrols, arrested a teenage boy. He was due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
Police in Fife have been attempting to target youth disorder in the area and have arrested 17 people to date.
They have been carrying out large local operations for the past two weekends.
Withdraw threat
Senior officers warned that local patrols would continue for the next few weeks at least.
Chief Inspector Andy Morris said: "I have publicly denounced anti-social behaviour across the Levenmouth area and would once again advise those that are determined to behave in this way - you will get caught and you will be prosecuted.
"My staff and I will not back down to those who continue to try and make the lives of our residents a misery."
The incident involved a Stagecoach bus. The company has already threatened to withdraw services if attacks on buses continue.
