Murder probe after burns man dies
Police car outside flat
The victim was found behind flats in Dunfermline
A man who was found at the back of a block of flats with serious head injuries and severe burns has died.

Police said the death of Brian Bowie, from the Abbeyview area of Dunfermline in Fife, was being treated as murder.

The 35-year-old was found in Inchkeith Drive just before midnight on Saturday. He had been treated in hospital but died on Thursday afternoon.

Two men have already appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court in connection with the incident.

Both men are expected to re-appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court early next week.

Senior investigation officer, DCI Rab McLaren, said: "I would like to express my sympathies to Brian's family at this sad time for them.

"At the start of this investigation we instigated major inquiry procedures due to the serious nature of the crime.

"There are still numerous ongoing enquiries into this case and whilst we have had a good response from people who were in the area I would ask anyone who may have any information concerning Brian's murder, no matter how relevant they feel it might be, to contact us."
