Fife Off Road Motorcycle Club members show off their bikes

There have been an increasing number of complaints about the problems caused by people riding unlicensed motorbikes, quads and minimotos.

Police have joined forces with Fife Off Road Motorcycle Club, which is based at Cardenbarns near Cardenden.

The 800-strong club provides a safe and supervised environment for bikers.

Invaluable work

James Richardson, chairman of the club, said: "It is our aim to discourage the illegal use of bikes and quads on the road and in public places.

"We have a custom-built 1.9-mile long track, which is packed with adrenalin pumping features, such as jumps, tabletops and hairpins.

"Our activities are controlled and properly marshalled and we have first aiders on hand should the worst happen.

Insp John McDonald of Fife Constabulary road policing said: "I applaud the invaluable work that James and his committee are doing and would urge parents of motorbike and quad users to visit the site and look at the benefits on offer.
