A copy of the The Da Vinci Code novel which Tom Hanks had while he was filming the movie at the Rosslyn Chapel in Midlothian has gone on sale. The copy of the Dan Brown blockbuster book, which is signed by Mr Hanks, has been put on auction site eBay to raise money for cancer research.
Online bidding kicks off on Friday and will run for the next 10 days.
The book comes with a letter of authenticity showing that it was bought in Roslin.
The star bought the book in the Midlothian town and when he finished reading it sent his bodyguard to Ikea in Edinburgh with it for the store's Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning event.
The shop held on to the book until the film came out and gave it to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Kate Seymour, of Macmillan Cancer Support, said: "Ikea in Edinburgh is five minutes away from Rosslyn Chapel and the Edinburgh staff invited Tom Hanks along to their coffee morning.
"He couldn't make it as he was filming but his bodyguard turned up with this copy of the book and said Tom wanted us to use it to raise as much money as possible.
"We think it is the only signed copy he used on set so it a quite a unique piece of modern Scottish film history.
"We are hoping for a very good price for it and 100% of the money is coming to Macmillan.
"It's a great thing for us to have."
