Snow Patrol have been announced as the headline act for a a show in front of 20,000 music fans in Edinburgh. The band were the first act to be unveiled to play this summer's T on the Fringe festival.
The group will perform their biggest-ever headline show on 25 August at Meadowbank stadium.
The annual festival, which is the contemporary music strand of the Edinburgh Fringe programme, will see artists playing at venues in the city.
It will be the third time Meadowbank has been used for such a large-scale music event.
It previously hosted a T on the Fringe concert by The Pixies and Radiohead are due to appear three days before Snow Patrol.
A total of 20,000 tickets for the concert will go on sale at 0900 BST on 5 May, costing �25 each.

Dave Corbet, of promoter DF Concerts, said: "We are delighted to be announcing Snow Patrol as the first act to confirm for this year's T on the Fringe.
"They are a fantastic live act and this, their biggest-ever headline show, will be no exception.
"The calibre and diversity of artists that we have each year just gets better and better, and we still have some really exciting announcements to make for 2006.

Since 2000, T on the Fringe has featured performances from artists such as Nancy Sinatra, Supergrass, The Stereophonics and Morrissey.
Last year saw the most successful T on the Fringe yet, with combined tickets sales of more than 55,000.
