Heavy snow and freezing temperatures have caused more chaos across Scotland. Hundreds of schools are closed in Aberdeenshire, Dumfries and Galloway, the Borders and the Western Isles. Meanwhile council gritters have been trying to keep the main routes open as people return to work after the festive break.
