Jamie Beaton was on the road to Elgol in Skye when he captured a group of sheep who had not paid attention to the incoming tide.

Donald Whannel, from Neilston, submitted this image of an RAF Typhoon at the Largs Viking Festival. But he said he was unsure of exactly what role the air force played at the Battle of Largs in 1263.

Martin Lamb captured a scenic view of Vatersay Bay on Barra, in the Outer Hebrides. He said the beaches there could be mistaken for the Caribbean but the sea temperature was more like the Arctic.
