Susan Boyle's performance has been watched by millions of people online |
Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond has congratulated singing sensation Susan Boyle, following her almost overnight success. The 47-year-old church volunteer from Blackburn, West Lothian, became an unlikely star following her performance on ITV's Britain's Got Talent. Mr Salmond, who is from the nearby town of Linlithgow, wrote to Ms Boyle to wish her every success for the future. The news came as Mr Salmond delivered his speech at the SNP conference. Ms Boyle, who stunned judges on the show with her rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables, has since been watched by millions of people online. Mr Salmond - a former boy soprano - has joined the likes of Hollywood actress Demi Moore as a fan of Ms Boyle, who has now become the bookies' favourite to win the TV talent show.
