Trains delayed after air accident

Virgin train
Virgin train tickets will be valid for travel on Saturday

Passengers travelling from Scotland to London on the West Coast Main Line face delays of up to an hour after a light aircraft crash in Staffordshire.

Three people are believed to have died when the plane went down near the track in Little Haywood, near Stafford.

British Transport Police warned that the line was unlikely to be fully repaired this weekend.

Virgin is running a reduced service though tickets are transferable to the National Express east coast service.

Passengers have been advised to check National Rail Enquiries before travelling.
