Reaction to the Calman Commission into the workings of Scottish devolution, which has played down any suggestion of handing full financial powers to Scotland.
IAIN GRAY - LABOUR LEADER AT HOLYROOD "We are open to change and appreciate the substantial work that has gone into the Calman Commission's interim report. "It is a serious attempt to look at how we can improve devolution and make it more effective while at the same time working in co-operation and harmony with Westminster." ALEX SALMOND - FIRST MINISTER OF SCOTLAND "The Calman Commission seems to have spent a lot of time making no conclusions at all about anything." TAVISH SCOTT - SCOTTISH LIBERAL DEMOCRAT LEADER "This report is where Scotland is now. Liberal Democrats want a strengthened Scottish Parliament within the United Kingdom - a real home rule settlement. "Calman must now produce a blueprint for this future." ANNABEL GOLDIE - SCOTTISH CONSERVATIVE LEADER "The commission is the only constitutional game in town. "The Scottish Government is now required to confirm that it will authorise its civil servants to give general evidence to the commission so that their experience and expertise can contribute to the ongoing work." JIM MURPHY - SCOTTISH SECRETARY "The commission has a serious remit, which is to carry out a detailed examination of the experience of a decade of successful devolution. "It is wholly independent and it is only right it should be left to consider these significant questions in the timescale and manner it sees fit."
