Angler found after chopper search
Sea Kings
Two search and rescue helicopters were involved
A pensioner who went missing during a fishing trip with friends has been found safe and well by a police helicopter 24 hours after he disappeared.

A major search operation was launched after 76-year-old Mario Goska, failed to meet up with two friends on a fishing trip north of the Bridge of Orchy in Argyll at 1800BST on Sunday.

The group travelled to the Loch Tulla area to fish at Hill Lochs where Mr Goska, of Johnstone, left his friends after deciding to fish elsewhere.

He should have met them back at their vehicle but never arrived.

A search involving local police, members of Strathclyde Police Mountain Rescue Team, two helicopters, the RAF Mountain Rescue Team and Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team was launched.

He was spotted by a helicopter crew north of Loch Laidon on the Rannoch Moor at about 1830BST on Monday.

Mr Goska was found to be suffering from a knee injury which had prevented him from walking to meet his friends.

He was taken by the helicopter to the Lorne and Isles District General Hospital, Oban, where after treatment to a slight knee injury he was detained overnight for observations.
