Bowel cancer can be cured with early treatment
A campaign is being launched to raise awareness of the symptoms of bowel cancer and urge people to seek early medical help if they have them.

A thousand people are diagnosed with the disease each year in Northern Ireland, with about 430 dying from it.

However, it remains one of the most curable cancers if caught early.

Over Christmas, washrooms in bars and clubs in NI will display posters with information on the disease in an Action Cancer/Randox Laboratories campaign.

Featured on the posters will be campaign front man, actor and Action Cancer patron, James Nesbitt.

The actor will urge people to: "Go and see your GP at the earliest stage if you have symptoms."
