Overseas students bring in 127m
University graduation
Tuition fees account for most of the money coming in
Foreign students in Scotland bring 127.9m to the country's economy each year in tuition fees alone, a report has found.

The figures were revealed by the British Council, the UK's international body for cultural relations.

Across Britain, international students bring more than 6bn into the country, up nearly 40% in the past three years.

London, the South East and the north west of England all brought more in fees from overseas than Scotland.

The organisation believes the figures show a change in our education system from one that serves primarily the home market to one that operates on a truly international basis.
