Weblog view of Scottish politics
Brian Taylor, political editor, BBC Scotland

The Holyrood and local elections take place on 3 May and politicians of all persuasions are seeking your support.

To help you make sense of what is going on, BBC Scotland's political editor, Brian Taylor, is writing an election blog, alongside the BBC's political correspondents from Wales and Northern Ireland.

It is his chance to add a thought or an observation from his political front row seat as election day draws nearer.

Users may also be given the opportunity to listen, watch or read something that has particularly interested our political editor.

It is also a chance for you to add your thoughts or pose a question.

As well as being a conversation, weblogs can be more personal, which is why the format is finding ever more uses in the mainstream media.

Your input

The main thing which makes blogs different from a newspaper column or even TV or radio broadcast is that it is a conversation between the author and the audience.

So, the success of this weblog will depend on your input.

We will aim to publish as many comments as possible on the Election '07 weblog, though unfortunately we cannot guarantee to publish every e-mail you send. E-mails will only be published after we have had chance to read them first.

Try to keep your comments short and relevant to the blog entry you are commenting on. And as you might expect, we will not publish e-mails which are abusive or offensive.
