The council is examining fees for community care |
An increase in non-residential charges for community care users throughout the Perth and Kinross area has been approved by councillors. The hourly charge for homecare will rise from 8.25 to 8.50, with a separate flat rate charge of 2.50 for the food element of all provided meals.
Perth and Kinross Council's housing and health committee backed the changes on Wednesday.
The authority said they were needed to maintain current levels of service.
No charges will be incurred for the preparation of meals for clients aged over 65, although they will have to meet the cost of the food component of the meals.
The committee also approved new fee payments for independent care home placements.
Councils have already agreed standard residential fee rates of 406.78 and nursing fee rates of 471.45 per person per week.
