Climber survives Lochnagar plunge

A climber has survived after plunging about 250ft from a Scottish mountain.

The 32-year-old man had been climbing on Lochnagar on Deeside on Sunday afternoon when he lost his footing and slipped.

A companion raised the alarm and the man was found by Grampian Police and Braemar mountain rescue teams.

A rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth was scrambled to the scene. The man was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with a leg injury.
