Cod Crusaders left disillusioned

Fishing campaigners say they have been left "disillusioned" after a meeting with Chancellor Gordon Brown.

Cod Crusaders Carol MacDonald and Morag Ritchie, from Fraserburgh, had hoped to secure 30m in aid.

Mrs Macdonald said they were given a fair hearing, but left unhappy because Mr Brown gave them no commitments.

SNP leader Alex Salmond said he would write to the chancellor with detailed proposals on how government cuts in fuel costs could help fishermen.
