The park lies beside the M8 between Glasgow and Edinburgh

The revamp of the Eurocentral site in North Lanarkshire will widen its use from its original industrial focus and could create more than 4,000 jobs.

The plans for the 650-acre site include offices and a hotel as well as industrial and warehouse space.

Park spokesman Mark Shaw said: "This will be a highly desirable place in which to work."

Eurocentral is located in the heart of Lanarkshire's 'Golden Triangle', between the M74 and M8.

Mr Shaw, director of Tritax Assets Ltd, the company representing the site owners, added: "This consent signals a new era of revitalisation for the whole area, which will result in a greater diversity of jobs and a vibrant community through a wide mix of uses."
