Football to fight heart disease
Football legs
Improving Glasgow's health record is a target for the leagues
A pair of five-a-side leagues has been launched in Glasgow in a bid to lower heart disease rates.

The city council has teamed up with operators Fivez to start the regular football contest and encourage local people to take more exercise.

The leagues, based at Castlemilk Sports Centre and Tollcross Park Leisure Centre, will offer cash prizes and trophies for those taking part.

It is hoped the move will prove effective in improving health rates.

The league at Tollcross kicks off on Sunday, while in Castlemilk, it will start on 15 January.
