Richard House will run the Paris and London marathons |
An Edinburgh man is running the equivalent of eight marathons in eight days in an attempt to raise 10,000 for the British Red Cross. Richard House, 36, is running both the Paris and London marathons, plus the distance in between.
His challenge starts on 10 April in France and he aims to run on to London for the marathon there on 17 April.
He has been training for 10 months for the event, jogging up to 28 miles each evening after work.
Mr House said: "I have done several marathons before, but wanted to go further rather than faster, so decided to sign up for the Paris to London event.
"It's just such a massive challenge, and I wanted to see what I was capable of doing, as well as raising much needed cash for the Red Cross."
Claire Radford, senior Red Cross fundraiser, said: "We have all been immensely impressed at the motivation Richard has shown in training so far, and we're sure this steely determination will see him right through to the finish line in London.
"The money he raises will help enable the Red Cross to fulfil its commitment to helping people in times of crisis."
