Tom Hanks will take the lead role in the movie |
A man has been charged with breach of the peace at the chapel in Midlothian where Hollywood actor Tom Hanks is filming the Da Vinci Code. The 39-year-old was said to have been led away by Lothian and Borders Police after trying to get the star's autograph at Rosslyn Chapel.
The medieval chapel has been closed to allow Hanks to shoot scenes from the film with co-star Audrey Tautou.
The film based on Dan Brown's novel is due for release some time next year.
The 15th century chapel first experienced a surge in visitors after the book's plot suggested it was built to house the secret of the Holy Grail.
Despite being derided by the Catholic Church and many historians, Dan Brown's work has sold 17 million copies worldwide.
A spokesman for Rose Line Productions described Rosslyn as a "magnificent" building which would enhance the quality of the film, directed by Oscar winner Ron Howard.
The chapel's trustees are reported to have received location fees of about 100,000 to allow the filming.
