The move has brought eight full-time jobs to Kinlochleven |
The Scottish Executive's central inquiry unit has been moved to the Highlands as part of its public sector jobs dispersal scheme. The transfer of the telephone help service to Kinlochleven in Lochaber has brought with it eight full-time jobs.
The region has also seen Crown Office services move to Dingwall and Tain and the Crofting Building Grants and Loans Scheme Unit move to Tiree this year.
The government said it was determined to bring "quality jobs" to the area.
Deputy Finance Minister Tavish Scott said: "Moving even a small number of public sector jobs to rural communities can make an important contribution to local communities and businesses.
"It not only reinvigorates the existing community but also encourages others to consider moving there to live and work."
