Police have seized more than 16 gallons of alcohol during a crackdown on under-age drinking, it has emerged. The haul was discovered by just three officers from Central Scotland Police during a five-week operation in Stirling on Friday and Saturday nights.
The force said children as young as 14 had been found with alcohol and two men were reported to the procurator fiscal over buying drink for juveniles.
The 73 litres of drink seized included a range of wines, beers and spirits.
Fortified wines, lager, strong cider and alco-pops were all confiscated by officers.

Children as young as 12 were found to be involved in groups of older youths who had alcohol. Sergeant Gerry McMenemy said the number of anti-social behaviour calls dropped by a third during the five-week operation.
"We are now looking at continuing with this style of policing activity over the summer months," he said.
The main aim had been to prevent juveniles from accessing alcohol, he added.
"The operation concentrated on the hours immediately before 2200 BST when off-licences close on Friday and Saturday evenings.
"The alcohol was generally confiscated before being opened and therefore made unavailable to juveniles prior to consumption.
