Sentence was deferred at the High Court in Glasgow |
A Glasgow kickboxer has admitted carrying out a campaign of intimidation and violence against workers at a dental practice. Brian Twiddy, 34, elbowed a dentist in the chin at his surgery and attacked a practice technician outside a chip shop in the city.
Another employee was threatened with a saw and hammer.
Twiddy, who had claimed the staff made his false teeth too big, admitted the charges at High Court in Glasgow.
The court heard that he elbowed dentist Gerard Farrell in the chin during an incident in his surgery at Edinburgh Road, Carntyne, Glasgow.
He left the dentist swollen and bruised with the warning that he would be back.
The High Court in Glasgow heard that 12 weeks later employee James Bence took a phone call from Twiddy who threatened to come to the surgery and give him a "hammer in the face job".
He also threatened to take a saw to his face.
Psychological reports
A month after that incident, the practice technician, Brendan Johnston, was attacked by Twiddy in a fish and chip shop in Duke Street, Glasgow and elbowed so severely in the face he required stitches.
As he assaulted Mr Johnston, Twiddy shouted: "Thanks for making my teeth slack."
Twiddy, whose address was given as c/o Barlinnie Prison, admitted all three charges arising out of the three incidents which happened on 5 February, 29 April and 3 June last year.
He also admitted assaulting his boss, Alan Boyce, at a Miller Construction site in Robertson Street, Glasgow, on 3 March last year as he was being carpeted for poor work attendance.
Another charge which Twiddy admitted involved his brother's ex-partner, whom he seriously assaulted by knifing her in the backside during an incident in Knockhall Street, Garthamlock, on 22 June this year.
Solicitor Advocate Liam Ewing said there were concerns over the way Twiddy over-reacted in a gross fashion, although he was seen by psychiatrists and deemed sane and fit to plead.
Judge Ian Simpson called for psychiatric, psychological and risk assessment reports on Twiddy and adjourned sentence untill November.
