The seven staff work for Chivas Brothers
Seven workers at a Scottish whisky company have won almost 2.4m on the National Lottery.

The Chivas Brothers staff matched six numbers on the Lotto draw on Saturday.

The syndicate members are all employed at the company's factory in Newbridge, near Edinburgh, and won a total of 341,893 each.

Lottery officials said six of the mixed group of male and female winners are from West Lothian and the other is from North Lanarkshire.

The staff, dubbed the Lucky 7s, were expected to toast their win with a dram at the site.

The winning numbers on Saturday were 5, 6, 10, 15, 27 and 49 and the bonus number was 20.

Friends Paul Maddison and Mark Gardiner were the biggest ever syndicate winners, scooping 22,590,829 in June 1995.
