Rose Gentle has been outspoken in her criticism of the PM |
The mother of a young soldier who was killed in Iraq has repeated her call for the prime minister to resign over his handling of the conflict. Rose Gentle also reiterated her demand for British military personnel to be brought home from the country.
She launched a fresh attack on the authorities during a Scottish Socialist Party conference in Glasgow.
Private Gordon Gentle, 19, from Glasgow, was killed by a roadside bomb while on patrol in Basra in June.
His mother has accused the Ministry of Defence of being negligent by breaching its duty of care towards her son.
Mrs Gentle said: "Tony Blair said if there were no weapons of mass destruction he would resign, which he hasn't. So is that another lie he has given us?

"And why has he still not decided to meet the parents of the sons who've been killed. "I would love to see him come up and see my other boys grieve and see how he can stand to look at it when Gordon's not here for Christmas."
The Gentle family said they believed the blast which killed Private Gentle was triggered remotely and the attack could have been prevented if his vehicle had been fitted with the right equipment.
Private Gentle was serving with the Royal Highland Fusiliers and was killed just weeks after completing his training.
Mrs Gentle said she has received hundreds of letters of support urging her to continue fighting, including some from soldiers.
Her daughter Maxine wrote to Mr Blair about her brother's death in August and Downing Street has promised that he will reply.
The Ministry of Defence has expressed its sympathies to the private's family but added that it cannot discuss operational matters.
Comedian Mark Steel, Green MSP Mark Ballard and independent MSP Margo MacDonald have also been invited to speak at "The Worlds is Ours" conference at Glasgow Caledonian University.
