Airport unveils facelift plans

New check-in desks are planned at Prestwick
Prestwick Airport is set to undergo a �3m revamp, it has been announced.

Owners Infratil unveiled the plans, which include new check-in areas and more retail outlets, on Monday.

The Ayrshire airport currently handles two million passengers a year and is anticipating that this strong growth will continue.

Executive chairman Phil Walker said the aim was to "continue to accommodate the tremendous growth Prestwick has achieved in recent years".

"It's our aim to give our customers, staff and the local community an airport of which they can be very proud," he said.
