Lottery cash has been allocated to improve childcare services |
Lottery cash is being used to provide an out-of-school childcare service for children with disabilities and special needs in Inverclyde. Capability Scotland has received 750,000 and is one of 17 projects to share in 1.4m.
Other groups to benefit include One Parent Families, which will set up a baby-sitter service in Aberdeenshire.
The Big Lottery Fund's David Campbell said it was delighted to help improve childcare services.
Lottery cash will allow Capability Scotland to pilot four new services to provide after school and holiday care.
Young filmmakers have received a boost after the Glasgow Film Theatre's Cineclubs project was awarded 97,100.
The Big Lottery Fund is responsible for the distribution of half of all National Lottery good cause funding in the UK. The awards come under the New Opportunities for Quality Childcare programme which has already handed out more than 4m of grants since December last year.
Mr Campbell said: "Targeting those sectors where childcare needs are at their greatest is one of the challenges of this programme.
"Every day many Scottish parents face the challenge of finding childcare that suits their needs.
"We hope that through our Quality Childcare programme we are able to ensure that more childcare is provided that meets local needs and priorities."
