Train and car collide at crossing
A woman has been injured in a collision involving a train and a car at a level crossing in Dingwall.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident at about 1130 GMT on Monday.

The driver of the car was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness but was not thought to be seriously injured.

The level crossing, which is not gated, has been the scene of a number of collisions between vehicles and trains in the past.

The train involved in the crash was the 07.08 service from Glasgow Queen Street to Kyle of Lochalsh.

Network Rail said the car was a write-off, with minimal damage to the train.

A spokesman warned that services between Inverness and Kyle would be disrupted until safety checks have been made.

Police later said a woman had been charged following the accident.
