A paraglider was airlifted to hospital after crashing into a mountain in Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands. The man fell 500ft down a mountain after colliding with a peak in the Stob Coire Nan Lochan area.
He sustained head and back injuries, although they were not thought to be serious.
The man was found by members of Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team and airlifted to hospital in Fort William by a rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth.
A spokesman for the Royal Air Force said the man fell after colliding with a peak.
He said: "He was fairly high up before he actually hit the mountain.
Rescue operation
"We believe he was above the peak, which is around 3,500ft high, when he careered into it.
"He then fell about 500ft. Our helicopter went to the area and a winchman assessed him before taking him on a stretcher and lifting him from the site."
The rescue operation was launched shortly before 1500 GMT on Wednesday.
Northern Constabulary said the alarm had been raised by the man's companion.
A spokesperson added that the paraglider's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
