Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Al Fayed died in the crash |
The legal arguments in Mohamed Al Fayed's bid to have a public inquiry in Scotland into his son Dodi's death have been completed. Dodi died in the car crash in Paris six years ago which also killed Diana, Princess of Wales.
After three days of legal debate at the Court of Session in Edinburgh, Lord Drummond Young said he would give his judgement at a date yet to be fixed.
Mr Al Fayed, who owns Harrods, has a Scottish residence in Easter Ross.
He maintains that because he owns Balnagown Castle at Kildary, a public inquiry should be staged north of the border.
Mr Al Fayed has been fighting a decision by Scotland's senior law officer, the Lord Advocate Colin Boyd QC, to refuse an inquiry into his son's death.
The businessman has alleged that British security services were involved in the deaths of the princess and his son in 1997.
The lord advocate has opposed Mr Al Fayed's court move.
