The firm provides customer support |
Telecoms company Thus is to create 250 call centre jobs in Glasgow. New staff are being taken on to handle increased work from customers like Scottish Power and Sky and Book Club Associates.
The organisations now outsource their sales operations to Thus.
The announcement will bring the total number of call centre staff employed by the company to nearly 800.
Chief executive Bill Allan said: "As a committed major employer in the west of Scotland, the creation of these jobs provides a significant jobs boost for Glasgow and the west of Scotland."
And Gillian Campbell, the company's head of contact centre services, said they provide employees with real career development opportunities.
"Many of the people working for us at our contact centres have been with the company for a long period of time and have seen their career paths develop, providing them with more rewarding and responsible positions within the company," she said.
Thus operates internet and telecoms services as well as call centres.
It was founded by Scottish Power in 1994, and floated in 1999 before being fully demerged in 2002.
