Hospital workers set for strike action
Staff at a hospital in Lanarkshire have voted to take industrial action, including strikes, starting next month.

About 250 porters, cleaners and caterers at Hairmyres Hospital want the introduction of a national pay deal agreed by unions and the government.

They say ISS Mediclean, their employers at the PFI-run hospital, are stalling on the deal.

A number of NHS trusts around Scotland have already implemented the agreement, which pays a minimum 5.18 hourly rate.
