The painting was stolen in broad daylight |
Police have staged a reconstruction of the theft of a Leonardo Da Vinci masterpiece from a Scottish castle. The painting, Madonna with the Yarnwinder, was stolen from Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfries and Galloway two weeks ago by two men posing as tourists.
The reconstruction was held at 1100 BST, the exact time the robbers struck.
The stolen da Vinci painting is thought to be worth about 30m.
Insurers have offered a reward for information leading to the return of the painting, which is considered the most important art works stolen in the UK for decades.
Police have issued an e-fit and CCTV footage of the suspects, who escaped with the painting after overpowering a female member of staff at the castle.
An e-fit of the man who bought the getaway car has also been issued.
Drumlanrig Castle is owned by the Duke of Buccleuch, who is one of Britain's richest landowners, and contains many famous works of art and antiques.
