The walkers were rescued from Glen Etive |
Four walkers had to be helped from a Scottish mountain after setting out without proper equipment, police said. Rescue teams were called out in the early hours of Sunday to give assistance to the group.
The incident has sparked a warning to climbers to ensure that they have the proper equipment.
A spokesman for Northern Constabulary urged people not to venture out without the right kit, including waterproofs and stout walking boots.
The group were rescued from Meall Nan Gobhar, Glen Etive, Argyll, after the alarm was raised at about 0130 BST on Sunday.
Police were told that the three women and one man had gone up the hillside but were unable to make their own way back after darkness fell.
Missing man
"None of the party were adequately equipped for a walk of this kind," said the police spokesman.
"Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team were alerted and located the missing party and assisted them off the hill."
The team was also called out to search for a man missing on Aonach Eagach Ridge, Glencoe, early on Sunday.
The climber had set out with a friend on Saturday afternoon, but his companion turned back after a few hours.
Safe and well
When the man failed to meet his friend later the alarm was raised with police in Fort William.
Four members of the mountain rescue team made their way on foot to the ridge at first light and a helicopter was scrambled.
However, the missing walker turned up safe and well at a campsite.
He had bivvied down on the ridge for the night after realising he did not have enough time to complete his walk.
