Intruder's festival green light
Aaron Barschak dressed as Osama Bin Laden
Aaron Barschak is due at the Edinburgh Fringe
The comic intruder who gatecrashed Prince William's 21st birthday party will not be banned from performing at the Edinburgh Fringe, organisers say.

Festival marketing director Martin Reynolds said that 36-year-old comedian Aaron Barschak was clear to perform despite Saturday evening's incident.

Mr Barschak's show, Osama Likes It Hot, is due to run at the Smirnoff Underbelly on Cowgate during the first two weeks of August.

The unarmed intruder managed to get inside Windsor Castle as 300 guests celebrated with the prince and other senior royals.

Mr Reynolds said: "The Fringe is an open arts festival and we do not have the power to act as censors.

"In the past, acts have staged publicity stunts to great effect, but it's the public who decides how popular the show will be."

No one was injured during the incident at the African-themed party, but Home Secretary David Blunkett has demanded a report into the security breach.

The Fringe festival, from 2 to 25 August, will include more than 200 venues.

It runs alongside a number of other separate arts and entertainment festivals in the Scottish capital and is known for showcasing an eclectic range of innovative productions.
