 | | Wednesday, 6 March, 2002, 13:41 GMT 'Strongest ever' line-up for T in the Park  The Foo Fighters are on the bill The Chemical Brothers and the Foo Fighters are among the headline acts at the ninth annual running of Scotland's T in the Park music festival. Others scheduled to appear at the show, which routinely attracts as many as 90,000 people over two days, include The Hives and Badly Drawn Boy. Provisional details of the massive event, which is being held on 13 and 14 July, were announced in Glasgow on Wednesday. The organisers are planning to make a number of changes to the way the different stages are organised with a view to giving bands more exposure.
Geoff Ellis, of DF Concerts, said: "This year's line-up is arguably the strongest and most diverse we've ever had, with some fantastic live acts from the UK and some great artists from abroad giving the festival a real international flavour. "It's the enthusiasm of the T in the Park crowd that has made this not just a truly great event in Scotland, but one of the world's leading music festivals." Other bands which have been confirmed for this year's event at Balado, near Kinross, include Gomez, No Doubt, Ian Brown, The Beta Band, Joe Strummer, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Mull Historical Society, Tricky, A and Haven. The Slam tent will be returning for dance music fans. | |
