Four killed in Highland crash
Crashed cars
The accident happened at about 1050 in the morning
Four people have been killed and one person seriously injured in a road accident in the Highlands.

The accident happened on the old A9 road at Dalraddy, south of Aviemore, on Thursday morning.

Three of the victims died at the scene and two seriously injured casualties were taken to Raigmore Hospital, in Inverness.

However, it was later revealed that one of these people had died.

Wreckage
Police said the road was not a particular accident blackspot

Two cars collided at the Dalraddy Caravan Site on the B9152, between Aviemore and Kingussie.

Emergency services personnel worked at the scene of the collision for some time and the road was closed, with diversions put in place.

A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said the accident happened at 1051 BST on Thursday.

He said: "All emergency services were summoned to attend a two vehicle serious road traffic accident on the B9152 at Dalraddy.

"Air ambulance from Inverness also attended and removed one serious casualty with the other being transported by road ambulance to Raigmore Hospital.

"It has now been confirmed that a fourth person has since died of their injuries at Raigmore Hospital."

The spokesman said no details on the casualties would be released until relatives have been informed.

The road is favoured by tourists and some local people as a quieter alternative to the upgraded A9.
