| Thursday, 19 July, 2001, 20:04 GMT 21:04 UK Jenners store 'branches out' ![]() Jenners is branching out to Loch Lomond Edinburgh's world famous Jenners store has confirmed plans to open a 5m store at Loch Lomond. The store will form part of the Loch Lomond Shores development due to open next year. It is hoped the complex will encourage tourists to spend money while they are visiting Loch Lomond. Sixty staff will be recruited locally and the store will focus on branded leisure and causal wear and Scottish knitwear. It also plans a food hall and gift department. The development will be Jenners' third store, but the first outside Edinburgh.
Its flagship store has been located on Edinburgh's Princes Street since 1838, and it has had an outlet at Edinburgh airport since 2000. Although seven million people travel to the area, less than a quarter of them stop, citing a lack of facilities or spending opportunities. Jenners joint managing director Robbie Douglas Miller said: "It is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the development of an exciting new visitor attraction and will take the Jenners brand to a wider market. "The store will provide an exceptional shopping experience in terms of environment, customer service, and most importantly the quality of the merchandise." | See also: Top Scotland stories now: Links to more Scotland stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||
