A young boy has been taken to hospital after an incident at a Stirlingshire pond where a five-year-old drowned less than a month ago.

David Miller died after he slipped through the ice on the pond in the village of Cowie.

The pond was filled in with earth after the tragedy.

But the emergency services were called out on Monday afternoon to rescue a youngster trapped in mud.

They managed to free him and he was taken to Stirling Royal Infirmary, where his condition was giving cause for concern.

An investigation into David Miller's death was launched after the tragedy on the frozen pond last month.

He was understood to have been playing with a friend when he fell into the freezing water near his home.

The youngster, who was a pupil at Cowie Primary School, was pulled from the pond but despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at Stirling Royal Infirmary.

His grandfather, George Miller, said he thought David had been running after ducks and swans when the accident happened.
