Cable 'delighted' with coalition

Vince Cable of the Liberal Democrats has said he is ''delighted'' with ''a very good agreement'' as the coalition government enters its first day.

He revealed that talks with Labour broke down because ''the numbers did not stack up''.

Mr Cable, who is expected to be given responsibility for banks and business, said the deal contained key Liberal Democrat manifesto pledges.
