Former Prime Minister Sir John Major has told the BBC that giving the Liberal Democrats cabinet seats is a "price worth paying" for the Conservatives to form a stable government.

Speaking to Nick Robinson, he said it was "the right thing to do in the national interest" he would "personally be prepared to bear".
