Actress Cate Blanchett says her character in the new Robin Hood epic - Lady Marion Loxley - is anything but a "damsel in distress".
Speaking to Andrew Marr from the Cannes film festival on 16 May 2010, the Australian actress said that director Ridley Scott wanted to offer "a modern standpoint" on the classic tale.
The Oscar winning performer said the film draws parallels between the political turmoil in Robin Hood's time and present day politics - citing "overtaxation" and "the collapse of the banking system" as common issues.
