With the fear of financial collapse hanging over Greece, Eurozone leaders are trying to make sure the sovereign debt crisis doesn't spread across the continent.

The EU's Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner is proposing an imminent rescue package, and the European Parliament's Special Committee on the Economic Crisis has been holding a series of meetings.

Shirin Wheeler spoke to four MEPs at the heart of the debate:

• Wolf Klinz, German Liberal Chair of the Special Committee on the Financial, Economic and Social Crisis,

• Derk Jan Eppink, Belgian Conservative,

• Gay Mitchell, Irish centre-right

• Vital Moreira, Portuguese Socialist.
