David Cameron welcomes UK help for Britons

Conservative leader David Cameron has welcomed measures outlined by Gordon Brown to help bring stranded Britons back to the UK.

The Royal Navy has been mobilised to assist holidaymakers who have been affected by flight cancellations caused by a cloud of volcanic ash from Iceland.

The government is also talking to the Spanish government about designating Madrid airport as a hub for British travellers.
