Afghanistan: Bob Ainsworth says 'real test' lies ahead

Defence Secretary Bob Ainsworth has praised the forces involved in Operation Moshtarak in Afghanistan, saying it was "very well executed".

But he told the BBC the "real test over the coming months" would be in "winning over some elements that have formally been opposed to us, that have been shooting at our troops.

"The big test is whether or not we can hold the ground... win their hearts and minds... They'll be worried that we will not stay, that we will not continue to provide them with security."
