The former Attorney General, Lord Goldsmith, has explained how his view on the legality of the Iraq war appeared to change in March 2003.
Lord Goldsmith told the Iraq inquiry that his initial judgement was that there was a reasonable case for the use of force. But questions from the armed forces and the civil service convinced him that he should firm up his position and decide whether military action would be legal or not.
